The champion of Romania is intensively preparing for the new season of the Super League, as well as for the debut in the previous matches of the Champions League. But Gheorghe Hagi’s club made a radical decision.
Farulu’s second team will no longer play in the third league
On Saturday, the club’s management released a statement announcing that Farul II, Dobrodenes’ second team, will no longer play in the next Ligue 3 season.
The reason given by the Constantinians was a very busy schedule with games on three fronts, and most of the players of the second team will enter the main team in the new competitive year.
Farul II finished second in the recently concluded season, far behind leader Afumați, who entered the barrier for promotion.
“The club’s second team, Farul II, will no longer participate in the 2023-2024 3rd League season.
The decision was made in view of the very busy schedule of the main team of the club in the new season.
Thus, the Romanian champions will be involved in three competitions in the 2023-2024 season, the championship, the European Cups and the Romanian Cup, and this requires a large party of which the current second team players can be a part.
In addition, the younger groups from the Youth League and the U17s, who have unfortunately failed to win the title in the last two years, represent another priority for the club, which will continue to strive for new national trophies and new participation in the Youth League.” – announced the Farul clubon the official website.
