Health Minister Alexandru Rafila responds to accusations by PSD MP Patricio Ahimash Cadariu, a doctor and former health minister, who announced that he does not support a government with a minister who mocks cancer patients. Rafila explains that over the past seven months, she has repeatedly invited Karadiou to discuss the plan for cancer patients with the ministry’s experts, but he has not responded to the invitation.
“I never argued with Mr. Ahimas. I always had words of gratitude for him. The only thing I did and got no response was to invite him over the past seven months repeatedly to discussions at the Ministry of Health headquarters or elsewhere, not with me, but with his colleagues in the field of oncology, and I believe that here arguments of a professional and scientific nature should prevail. Therefore, I did not argue or insult Professor Ahimash. I don’t know if reciprocity is real,” Alexandru Rafila said on Prima TV’s political show Insider on Saturday, News.ro quoted.
The minister called the “correct” position of Marcel Čolaka in the dispute between two PSD members.
Alexandru Rafila said that he does not have “insolence” when discussing laws that affect the health of patients.
“Pride elsewhere”
“Of course, I don’t want a list of achievements in the service of the Romanian people to be on the tombstone. I am a normal man. I think the pride is somewhere else, and if you look neutrally at my statements and at the statements of others who had a different opinion about me, you will see that I did not offend anyone, m – I put where I want to we came with arguments, not with insults, this is absolutely false and I do not want to even suggest the version of the plan that the oncologists were working on, you will see that my name does not appear there and I do not want it, because I am actually over I did not work on this, I am the Minister of Health, and the work and authorship of these documents of a technical, professional nature belong to oncology specialists,” said Alexandru Rafila.
Criticism of Achimas Kadariou
Dr. Patricio Ahimash Kadariou, the former head of the health portfolio, has criticized the cancer plan being promoted by the ministry.
“The moment you invent a deception, a so-called new plan, which again has to be transparent within a few months or voted in the form of a decree or in parliament, it seems to me that it is something out of the ordinary … it is difficult for me to comment,” – Cadariou said.
Patricio Ahimash Kadariou emphasized that “this is not a political problem.”
“No one listened to me, I have nothing to criticize politically, this is not a topic, and I would like to emphasize that this is the problem of cancer patients, for whom I worked as a large group, I developed a law compatible with European laws to give the same chance to Romanian patients , like patients from the West, and suddenly all these things can be seen, to say the least, destroyed, postponed,” said the PSD deputy.
