The 110th edition of the Grand Loop kicks off on Saturday, July 1, in Bilbao, northern Spain, and will finish three weeks later on Paris’ famous Champs-Elysées, after the motorcade has covered a total of 3,404 kilometers over 21 stages. Jonas Wingegaard is the last holder of the trophy, but two-time winner Tadej Pohakar is impatient and ready for revenge.

Pogacar vs. Wingegaard to win the 2023 Tour de France

Without simply and perhaps in the spotlight for the overall victory in Tour of France the Slovenian Tadej Pohakar and the Dane Jonas Wingehor will be there. We are talking about the winners of the last three races, two extremely talented road racers of the new generation who have produced outstanding results this season. The two have faced each other once since a bitter duel in 2022, this March when Pogacar beat Wingegard in Paris-Nice.

Tadei Pohachar (grade 2.10)

At the age of 24, Pogacar already has two victories in the Tour de France overall. He won in 2020 on his debut and confirmed the yellow jersey a year later. This year, Pogacar won Paris-Nice, the Tour of Flanders, the Amstel Gold Race and the Walloon Arrow before falling in the Liege Bastogne Liege. The injury he recovered from won the national time trial and long distance titles in Slovenia.

Jonas Wingehor (odds 2.10)

Dane Wingegaard surprised everyone with his victory at the Tour de France last year. The 25-year-old cyclist arrives at the Grand Loop with overall wins at the Tour of the Basque Country and the Criterium Dauphine, the last major race in the build-up to Le Tour.

Jay Hindley (odds 20.00)

At the age of 27, Australian Jai Hindley will make his debut at the Tour de France. Winless in the races he has started this year, Hindley is on course to win the Tour of Italy in 2022 after defeating Richard Karapas and Mikel Landa. In June’s Criterium Dauphine, Hindley finished fourth overall, showing promising form for the Tour de France.

Rating of coefficients by points

  • Jasper Philipsen – rating 2.20
  • Vout Van Aert – 2.80 rating
  • Fabio Jacobsen – odds 5.00

The sprinters of the peloton will have their own battle at the Tour de France for the coveted green jersey in the points hierarchy.

Belgian Jasper Philipsen, a roadster with six wins this season, is the main favorite in the Betano bid. Philipsen won two stages of the 2022 Tour de France.

In 2022, the green jersey was returned by Belgium’s Vout Van Aert, a cyclist who recently won the national time trial championship. Van Aert won the points hierarchy at the Tour of Switzerland and triumphed at the E3 Saxo classic in the spring.

Roadrunners to win the stage

A special section in Betano’s offer for the Tour de France is dedicated to the road racers who have to win a stage out of the 21 scheduled.

Not being the favorite for the overall victory, the Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel remains one of the drivers expected to liven up the race, rate 1.55 on Betano. Having won just one stage at the 2021 Tour de France, van der Poel is looking to add to his record and achieve new successes in the world’s most important cycling race.

Other drivers to watch out for in this section are Frenchman Julien Alaphilippe (odds 2.10) or Christophe Laporte (odds 2.55).
