Advertisements about real estate in occupied Mariupol appear on Russian websites and social networks, reports Meduza.
About 100 groups with announcements about buying, selling and renting housing in the Ukrainian city were allegedly found in VKontakte.
Mariupol was heavily bombed by Russian forces in 2022 as they tried to capture the southern port city.
The UN later said 90 percent of residential buildings and 60 percent of private homes were destroyed in the fighting.
The mayor of Mariupol estimated 10,000 dead.
Some of those looking for homes in the area said they would look at homes “in any condition” and were willing to rebuild after the bombings.
One of the potential buyers, Olesya, said that he considered it a “good investment” and that the city under the Russian wing had a “great future”.
The Eldar stated that they believed the city would soon “bloom” and become a “beautiful place to rest”.
