As the new owner, the 2018 world champion intends to continue the process of structuring the club.

“Both parties have formalized rumors that have been circulating in the sports press for several days. Royal Excelsior Virton Football Club has officially replaced Flavio Becca with N’Golo Kante. The transfer will take place on July 1.

N’Golo Kante’s intention is to continue structuring the club with the aim of strengthening its foundations, stabilizing the staff and ultimately reviving the RE Virton training tradition through the Youth Academy,” the club’s official press release said.

In 2022-2023, Royal Excelsior Virton took the last place in the Challenger Pro League (Belgian D2), writes News.ro.
