The Skoda Kodiaq is the first SUV from the Czech manufacturer, with the exception of the Yeti, but which was not a true SUV in the literal sense of the term.

After more than seven years of good and loyal service, the first generation Kodiaq will slowly give way to the second, a model that Skoda presents to us quite extensively today, even if the first photos show a version that is still heavily camouflaged.

Electric range is more than 100 km

If styling-wise the Skoda Kodiaq doesn’t really evolve in terms of its silhouette, it’s on the inside that it should change the most, with what’s sure to be a new dashboard shared with the future Superb.

Today, the brand gives us the first information about its engines, in particular with the availability of several hybrid versions.

The first, we already know, as it is the four-cylinder 1.5-liter eTSE ACT, which is already present under the hood of several models of the group. It is a micro-hybrid engine with a Miller cycle to reduce fuel consumption. The new Skoda Kodiaq micro-hybrid is offered only with a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The second known engine is more interesting, since it is a 204-horsepower hybrid. At the heart of the powertrain is a 1.5-liter TSI four-cylinder engine paired with a 25.7 kWh battery-powered electric motor. This large battery allows, according to Skoda, cover more than 100 km on a drop of gasoline. To recharge the battery, this Kodiaq is equipped with an 11 kW charger and a DC fast charge of up to 50 kW.

See you at the end of the year

Skoda Kodiaq will also be available in a diesel version with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder TDI unit with a capacity of 150 and 193 hp. There will also be a 2.0-liter four-cylinder TSI gasoline unit with a capacity of 204 hp.

Diesel and gasoline engines with a capacity of 193 and 204 hp. accordingly, they are equipped with all-wheel drive in the standard configuration. The new Skoda Kodiaq will be presented in October next year marketing in the second quarter of 2024 in France.
