A 2023 bachelor’s degree candidate from Brasov was disqualified from the exam after his mobile phone rang during the Romanian language exam when he received an RO-Alert message, newsbv.ro reports. This is considering that BAC candidates are not allowed to enter the examination hall with a mobile phone.
According to the press secretary of the Brasov County Inspectorate, Valentyn Bucur, quoted by newsbv.ro, this is a candidate from previous promotions who took the bachelor’s exam at the Energy Technical College “Remus Răduleț” in Brasov.
The student had his phone on him and the RO-Alert was triggered, so he is barred from the next two sessions of the BA exam.
“The candidate was denied access to the phone because he called the RO-Alert alarm. This candidate will be prohibited from participating in the next two sessions of the bachelor’s exam,” said a representative of ISJ Brașov.
According to the Ministry of Education, more than 130,500 candidates registered for the first session of the bachelor’s exam in 2023 (among them more than 16,000 – from previous promotions).
118,384 candidates participated in the first BAC 2023 written exam, i.e. 97.6% of all registered candidates.
According to the Ministry of Education, 28 candidates were disqualified for cheating or attempted cheating on Monday in the Romanian language test of the 2023 bachelor’s exam, which will conclude on Wednesday with the profile exam.
