President Volodymyr Zelenskyi on Monday praised Ukrainian troops for advancing “on all fronts” after spending a day posing and presenting awards to soldiers on the country’s eastern and southern fronts, Reuters reported.

“Today, our soldiers advanced in all directions. This is a happy day,” said President Zelensky in his video speech on Monday night, which was broadcast from a train after visiting two frontline districts.

The president’s office published four videos from Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s trip, which, according to him, covered “hundreds of kilometers” and meetings in at least three places.

The president was in the east of Donetsk region, in the center of the conflict initiated by Russia 16 months ago, and in the south in the Berdyansk region, in areas where Ukrainian forces retook several villages, and in another sector also on the southern front, but further west.

In the last of the four videos, President Zelenskyy states that he saw “several brigades, all different and absolutely heroic. They are different, but with one goal – victory over the Russians,” he said, disparagingly referring to the Russian soldiers.

Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar said on Monday that Ukrainian forces have regained control over Rivnopole, a village west of a group of settlements retaken after offensive operations. The village is probably the ninth captured by Ukraine this month.

Ukraine says it has made progress since launching a counteroffensive, but Russian forces continue to control large swaths of territory. (Agerpress)
