The general mayor of the capital, Nikushor Dan, explained that there are problems with the supply of hot water in the summer, as the four CETs require a longer review period. The mayor said that more than 50 kilometers of the heating network will be restored this year, News.ro reports.
When asked why sectors 2, 3, 5 and 6 of the Capital do not have hot water until July 14, Nikusor Dan answered on Monday evening on Digi24 that work is underway to change the main network.
“The good thing is that we’ve been able to do this and we already have the data, we’ve been able to change a lot more of the core network than we’ve been able to do in previous years. In 2021, we covered 28 km, in 2022 – 32 km, and, I think, this year we will exceed 50 km. This was our goal, which we promised during the campaign, and because of the work we did and because of the temporary power plant that we installed, the first that was installed in Bucharest after 1989, the temporary power plant from Titan, this winter everything was better, in the sense that we had whole days of February, which were the coldest, in which we did not have problems,” said Nikusor Dan.
The mayor also touched on the revision of the Central Economic and Trade Commission.
“There are problems in the summer for two reasons. One thing – so far we have only talked about the transport that we have in the town hall. Production is located in the Ministry through four major CETs. They need a long overhaul in the summer to keep them running and then another year. Working in the summer, we run two CET all the time, and then the distance that the hot water travels is much greater, and because the pipes are broken, it affects the quality of service, that’s what happens summer after summer. However, every year we are a little better,” said Nikusor Dan.
More than 300 blocks in the 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th sectors of the Capital remain without hot water until the end of June. For 20 blocks in sector 3, hot water will be suspended until July 14, according to the message of “Thermoenergetic”, according to which work on replacement and repair of pipes of the primary network will be carried out in these areas.
