Ana Bohdan reached the 1/8 finals of the “WTA 500” tournament in Eastbourne, defeating Sorana Kirstea in three sets.

In the first round of the competition in Great Britain, Ana (61 WTA, coming from the qualification) defeated Sorana (38 WTA) after an hour and 50 minutes of play with the score 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.

They also met in Birmingham (last week) and Sorana won by a similar scoreline: 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.

• Bohdan will fight for a place in the quarters with the winner of the match between Madison Brengle (114 WTA, out of qualification) and Caroline Garcia (5 WTA, favorite 2).

• Having reached the 1/8 finals, Ana Bohdan secured a prize of $10,530 and 55 points (she ranks 54th in the WTA Live ranking). Sorana Kirstea, on the other hand, will receive $6,870 and one point.
