David Popovici is ready for the World Championships in Fukuoka after a sensational run at the Sette Colli Trophy, where he managed to win gold medals in the 100m and 200m freestyle.

The 2022 European and World Champion in these two events, David Popovici, was delighted with his performances in Rome and revealed what the preparation program will be for the final competition in Fukuoka.

In the 200 meters, the CS Dinamo Bucharest-registered athlete was more than a second faster than Britain’s Thomas Dean, the reigning Olympic champion in the event.

“I’m glad I’m back in a stronger competition program, I needed to compete with stronger opponents and we’re going to slowly start preparing for the World Championships and we’re going to have a little bit shorter, a little bit faster, more competition-specific training, we’re going with quite a strong training period, a lot of miles, with quite hard approaches.’ David Popovich said, according to GSP.

The World Championship in Fukuoka will be held from July 23 to 30.
