Carlos Alcaraz, the fourth Spanish player to win the Queen’s Trophy

Carlos Alcaraz regained his place as the world leader in the ATP hierarchy after the success achieved at the tournament in London.

The Iberian played well against Alex De Minaur and managed to win the first title of his career on grass.

Alcaraz became the fourth Spanish player in history to win the Queen’s Trophy after Andres Gimeno (1960), Rafael Nadal (2008) and Feliciano López (2017 and 2019).

In the end, Alcaraz was quite modest about his journey to Queen’s Club and also talked about his expectations for Wimbledon.

“It means a lot to me to win this tournament, it’s my first time here and it’s fantastic to know that I’m at a good level on grass. Yes, I became the world number one again, but my chances at Wimbledon do not change.

Novak will be there too… Obviously I feel better than I did at the beginning of the week. Tennis is my life. Tennis is everything to me. Every time I step on the field, I put a smile on my face.” – said Carlos Alcaraz.

Wimbledon will start on July 3 and run until July 16.
