The head of the Military Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, said that Russia has not yet delivered “any nuclear warheads” of tactical weapons, which, according to President Vladimir Putin, have already been moved to Belarus, reports Independent Kyiv.

According to Budanov, preparations for “possible transfer” are underway, storage facilities are being equipped.

Budanov’s statement contradicts a June 16 statement by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who said the first tactical nuclear weapon had already arrived in Belarus.

“This is the first part. But by the end of the summer, by the end of the year, we will complete this campaign,” the Kremlin leader said.

On June 13, Oleksandr Lukashenko also announced that Belarus had begun receiving Russian tactical nuclear weapons, noting that some of them were three times the size of the atomic bombs dropped by the US on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.

On May 26, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and his Belarusian colleague Viktor Khrenin signed an agreement for the first time on the placement of Russian non-strategic nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus. Shoigu would say that control over weapons will remain with Moscow.
