The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, ridiculed the statements of Vladimir Putin’s press secretary, Dmytro Peskov, who said that Russia had achieved one of its main goals, namely the “demilitarization of Ukraine.”

On Sunday, Kuleba tweeted that Russia was expected to say that “all operational objectives have been achieved. As a member of the EU and NATO, Ukraine can no longer attack Russia. Crimea is no longer a financial burden. Our losses taught us a lesson and strengthened Russia.”

“As I already said, Russia can present any failure as a victory,” Kuleba added.

His reaction came after Peskov said the goal of “demilitarizing Ukraine” proclaimed by Moscow at the start of its invasion of the neighboring country had been “largely achieved”.

“Ukraine is using less and less of its own weapons and more and more weapons systems supplied by Western countries,” said the spokesman of the Russian president.

Thus, “one of the tasks” proposed by Moscow “was in fact largely accomplished,” Peskov added.
