FIFA celebrated the 29th anniversary of Gheorghe Hagi’s fantastic goal against Colombia

On 18 June 1994, Romania played their first match in Group A of the 1994 World Cup and beat Colombia 3-1, announcing a fantastic run.

Florin Reducha scored a double, and Gheorghe Hagi scored a goal from a long distance, which went down in history as the most beautiful success of the tricolors in the final tournaments.

29 years after that game, FIFA commemorated the moment with a clip with Hagi’s anthological ending.

Romania took first place in Group A after defeating Colombia (3-1) and USA (1-0) and losing to Switzerland (1-4).

In the 1/8 finals, the three-colors effectively beat Argentina (3-2), but stopped in the quarters after a game from ecstasy to agony with Sweden (1-1 in 90 minutes, 2-2 after extra time, 5-4 for the Scandinavians in penalties) .
