Alpine will finally reach profitability! News from Auto Plus in your smartphone News from Auto Plus in your mailbox

Returning to the market in 2017, the Alpine brand was able to rise from the ashes with the A110, which has delighted enthusiasts since its launch. The firm then capitalized on the success of its berlinetta by abandoning its use in all sauces, launching a new R version for “radical” a few months ago, which now rounds out the range. But sales are currently a bit low, probably due to the lack of new products offered by the Renault group’s small brand. But this should not last while other models are planned.

Towards profitability

Indeed, the manufacturer plans to become 100% electric brand and will release at least three new models over the next few years. It will be a city car, a cousin of the Renault 5, an SUV, as well as a sports coupe, no doubt inspired by the A110. But Alpine has other projects, including finally reaching profitability. This was reported by its manager, Laurent Rossi, to our colleagues from the Automotive News website. Thus, the manufacturer hopes to increase its revenues by an average of 40% between 2023 and 2030. The goal is two billion euros per year by 2026. It is on this day that profitability will be achieved.

Motorsport as a valuable aid

To help the brand grow, Laurent Rossi focuses, in particular, on motor sports. The latter explains to journalists that ” we’re doubling down on motorsports. We will buy on Sunday and sell on Monday. Formula 1 is watched by a billion viewers, and only ten teams. They cannot avoid Alpine’s presence“. According to Luca de Meo, the current head of Renault, this strategy could allow the brand to sell around 150,000 cars a year.
