The XXXI edition of the UNITER Awards Gala took place this year in Timisoara. This is natural, because the beautiful city in the west of the country is the cultural capital of Europe in 2023. And it could not be more normal for him to lead the most important celebration of the Romanian theater. It is the definition and celebration of excellence among Talia’s servants.

It seemed to me less natural, frankly disturbing, that the director of the National there made a title of fame out of it. The gala took place in the building that Timişoara people know better as the Opera House, a building that has two more theaters, as the actress Ida Jarcek Gaza, who was rightfully awarded the award for her entire career, wisely and appropriately reminded. Theaters that have clearly better performances than national ones. You can see work from the post office both last year and in the first half of 2023. So far, the National Theater only promises to make and deliver. We are always asked to have a little patience As long as the anticipation does not turn into action, it can actually be said that Ms. Adriana Hauswater was only illustrated on the Gala stage with a demagogic performance. An ideal caragial when referring to the need for principles.

I watched the gala thanks to the Romanian TV broadcast. The broadcast, coordinated, as in other previous editions, by number 24, the wonderful television personality that is Ruksandra Schuchel, was an artistic act in itself. I would say it was flawless. Transferring the broadcast of the Gala from the main channel of Public Television to the relatively recently restored TVR Cultural is in itself a questionable decision given the modest rating of the channel. Symptoms of dilettantism of the current top management of SRTV. Management, the only achievement of which is a sharp drop in the audience. To some extent, this move was compensated by the fact that commercial breaks became more frequent, which caused a stressful state, first of all, for the hosts and, of course, for the winners. Who no longer knew how to shorten their speeches. This year’s show, since it was about a show in law, therefore gained more coherence and organicity.

This year marks 30 years since TVR took part in the gala. Years that were not always calm or peaceful. It will be recalled that in 1994, only the forced resignation of TVR CEO playwright Paul Everak saved the broadcast of the Gala. The anniversary was celebrated by the leadership of UNITER by presenting a certificate at a public office. A diploma presented by the actor Marcel Jures to the current CEO, Mr. Dan Cristian Turturică, Care, pesemne, animated slogan to pies before, towar back, he boldly and conspicuously took the stage, ignoring the fact, more than reprehensible, that since his lordship runs TVR, and the Production House was entrusted to a thief named Mihai Predescu, an institution from Calea Dorobantilor no. 191 did not even have a theatrical premiere. Did UNITER president Mr. Turturika remind him of this shameful detail? Dragoș Buhagiar, even if only in private conversation? I’m afraid there isn’t. How I fear that the same Mr. Dan Christian Turturica did not have the slightest shame in front of another terrible proof. Namely, that this is the first time in the history of the Gala and UNITER Awards that there is no longer an award in the Television Theater category. For the simple reason that the nomination jury did not have an object of work in this chapter. If he had the slightest chill, perhaps Mr. pdg would have thought that Ms. Ruksandra Schuhel would have the right to take the stage. With whose name is connected not only the Gala program, but also good moments in the history of television theater.

The 2023 edition was, as I said, quite a spectacle. Live, authentic, rhythmic, wonderful, modern visually packed. Credit for this goes to Rezvan Mazil (director), Dragoš Buhagiar (decorator) and the hosts of the Gala. The wonderful young actors Ana Bianca Popescu, Monica Odaghiu, Lucian Ionescu and Alex Stefanescu. Good and long-time collaborators of Rezvan Mazila, who brought to the stage of the Gala the assets obtained in the wonderful musicals created by him. The fact that the lyrics of the songs were not quite correct in some places, that the rhyme was creaky, is by no means the fault of the four young artists. I’m just surprised that there was no one who could tell me how to pronounce the name of the playwright, theoretician and director Antonin Artaud correctly. Therefore, I do not forgive the French! Since I also do not condone the mutilation of the Romanian language, Ms. Hauswater also deserves a wooden spoon in this section for the disqualifying error of mispronouncing the number seventeen. Doesn’t the director of the National Theater in Timisoara know that the mission of the theater, among other things, is to promote the nurturing and protection of the national language? Or is it also egolatry, self-aggrandizement?

I believe it was necessary to keep this edition of the Gala alive. Mean success. To refute the words and prophecies, selfish and thoughtless, that after the irresponsible scandal caused by the publication of the nominations of all kinds of moralists and feminists of the time, which should have first looked into one’s own garden and weeded its weeds, both UNITER and Gala are in clinical death. I do not. Fortunately. Even if, as I have written on other occasions, I did not like the cautious, rabbinical, defensive manner in which Mr. The scandal was managed by Dragosh Bukhagyar. UNITER’s president proves that he still has a lot to learn about how to go the long way around the business. According to Mr. Bukhagiar, everything is fine. Although in a somewhat too philosophical speech, the deep will from the end of the play stuttered far beyond the forgiven. Please, it’s happening. With the facts, currently, Mr. The accountant is worse.

I think that the laudable success of this edition of the Gala should be used by the president of UNITER in a necessary attempt to restore the confidence of the guild. The fact that there were not many big names of the Romanian theater in the hall, maybe because they feel unnecessary, marginalized, too quickly removed from the game, the detail that they preferred to stay at home should make Mr. Accountant As well as his lordship’s advisers. On the other hand, the whole senate of UNITER should wonder why the majority of theater people no longer want to join UNITER. Especially among young people. Only in this way could Mr. Bukhagyar’s call for unity gain credibility and consistency.

Last year in Bystrica we had what I would call a hybrid Gala. That’s why I titled my comment then Uniter Awards gala between review and change. This year the changes were obvious. Undoubtedly good. However, so far only formally. However, there is a need for the nomenclature of awards to be radically revised, improved, and tied to modern theatrical realities. Which are still different from what they were in the early 90s, even from what they were in 2003, 2004, when the last major changes were made. I do not insist on this now. It’s not my business anymore. I hope the leaders of the association will think about it. I also hope that the changes will be well balanced. Made with care. Regarding viewing the category Song of the year Gala showed herself to be inefficient and hasty on the stage of this edition.

The organizer of the Gala did not miss the attention of the founding president Ion Karamitra. Sort of formal and sort of fast forward. It seems that the great actor was quickly forgotten by the shop. It even got to the point that he was slandered in an unacceptable manner in an article from Multimedia dictionary of Romanian theater. To which UNITER did not react in any way. – Read the entire article and comment on Contributors.ro
