Erling Haaland won the treble with Manchester City in his first season with Manchester City. The 22-year-old Norwegian forward has scored 52 goals and is the favorite to win the Golden Ball.

Manchester City won the Champions League final in Istanbul on Saturday night after beating Inter Milan 1-0 at the Ataturk Stadium.

And so Pep Guardiola’s side finished the season in style, winning the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.

Erling Haaland, brought in from Borussia Dortmund last summer, has impressed in his first season at the Etihad Stadium, scoring 52 goals in 53 appearances for the club.

Haland was also awarded the best player of the Premier League, as well as the award for the best young footballer of the English championship.

The Norwegian also set a new record for most goals scored in a Premier League season (36 goals) and became the top scorer in the Champions League with 12 goals.

According to the bookies, Lionel Messi remains favorite to win another Ballon d’Or thanks to his success with Argentina in Qatar, where he won the World Cup.

Messi has a share of 1.53 to 1.67, followed by Erling Haaland who has a share of 2.2 to 2.38.

Rounding out the podium is another Manchester City player, Kevin De Bruyne, who is the 12th to win France Football’s most important individual trophy.

The ceremony is scheduled for October 30, 2023 and will take place at the Châtelet Theater in Paris.
