Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated that it would take one to three months to repair the damage caused ammonia pipeline Tolyati-Odessa.

Earlier, Moscow accused “…Ukrainian saboteurs“. Ukraine says the pipeline has been damaged by repeated Russian shelling.

The explosion took place on Monday night near Masyutovkasmall village controlled Russian troops in the Kharkiv region, in the North-East of Ukraine.

According to the same source, the area was almost completely recaptured by the Ukrainian army in the fall of 2022.

Pipeline connecting Russian cities So – on the banks of the Volga – with Odessa, the most important port of Ukraine on the Black Sea, allowed Russia to export more than 2.5 million tons of ammonia – the main component of mineral fertilizers – is mainly intended for the European Union.

The pipeline was put into operation to export products of the chemical industry of Togliatti, the largest ammonia producer in Russia and one of the largest in the world. Transit through this pipeline, built in the late 1970s, was suspended with the start of the Russian offensive in Ukraine in February 2022.

Its reopening, requested by Moscow, is part of negotiations involving the UN over a grain deal that has enabled the export of millions of tons of Ukrainian grain.

“The only one who was not interested in resuming the operation of the ammonia pipeline was the Kiev regime,” Zakharova said.
