The centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will undoubtedly be one of the automotive events of the year, and on this occasion manufacturers will present special series of their road models.

A few days ago, Toyota unveiled the rather amazing Prius sports concept car, but it should not make it into the production model. For its part, Alpine chose the most radical of the A110s, the R version, to make it a Le Mans special, and it will ride well on our roads, even if the chances of crossing them are slim.

Unique livery

Technically, do not expect big changes, engineers, it seems already getting the most out of the engine and gearbox. This A110 R Le Mans stands out above all aesthetically, with an exclusive white and blue livery.

A thin double blue line adorns the front hood, roof and rear spoiler, nodding to the competition, finished with blue fins. The blue bezel highlights the carbon wheels, while the shark fin added to the carbon rear window refers to the A480 featured at the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

What would a limited edition be without little signatures here and there to emphasize its exclusivity? That’s good, there’s plenty of them on this A110 R with the official 24 Hours of Le Mans signature on the front fenders, side sills and on the microfiber Sabelt Track bucket seat headrests. The 24-hour track route is engraved on the sun visor.

The A110 R Le Mans has a number plate from the Dieppe factory with the official signature “24H Le Mans” to distinguish 100 copies.

Some improvements to the chassis

Does it justify it 140,000 euros claimed for this special series, or €25,000 more than the A110 R? Not really, but I guess that’s the price of exclusivity. Because even though Alpine has announced that orders will be open from June 8, 2023, all order forms have already been distributed worldwide.

This Le Mans edition is obviously based on the A110 R, using all carbon parts on the roof, wheels and interior with monocoque Sabelt Track seats. Under the hood we find a four-cylinder 1.8-liter TCe from 300 hp allows you to reduce the speed from 0 to 100 km/h 3.9 seconds and achieve 285 km/h at maximum speed.

The limited edition A110 R Le Mans features Road & Track pads that lower and increase the rigidity of the car by 5% for even greater stability on the track. This technical development, combined with a special suspension setting, further stabilizes the car on long straights, with a clear nod to the famous Hunodiere of the Circuit de Sarthe.
