What systems are mandatory for each model by 2024?
The new European regulation will introduce certain in the future driver assistance systems for new cars. This obligation already applies from 6 July 2022 for new homologated vehicles, but from 2024 all new registrations will gradually have to equip these systems as standard. According to EU statistics, up to 95% of traffic accidents are caused by human error. According to the European Commission, mandatory driver assistance systems on European roads could save up to 25,000 lives and prevent at least 140,000 serious injuries by 2038.

Intelligent speed adaptation (AIV)
This system indicates a speed limit detected and warns with a visual and sound signal about exceeding the maximum permitted speed. It can also automatically reduce the vehicle speed to a set maximum speed.
Warning about fatigue and inattention
It alert system in case of fatigue or reduced vigilance. They indirectly monitor the physical state, for example, by analyzing the manner of driving or steering, which indicate a decrease in attention due to fatigue.
Emergency braking assistant
Iemergency braking assistance brakes the car autonomously in dangerous situations or supports it during sharp braking. From 6 July 2022, emergency braking assistants are mandatory for type approval according to UN-R 152, and from July 2024 for new registration of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.
Emergency lane keeping assistant
Iemergency lane keeping assistant is a driver assistance system that warns and adjusts the steering only if the lane is unintentionally left.
Emergency stop lights
This system, also called adaptive brake light, signals other road users about sudden braking.
Recoil Assistant
Systems designed to detect vulnerable road users behind the vehicle when reversing.
