Passing in the third round to the British Cameron Norrie (13 ATP), Musetti could not cope with the world leader.
Three sets followed the same scenario, Alcaraz dominated the game and the Italian remains satisfied with seven game wins against the main favorite of the tournament.
Carlos Alcaraz is waiting for a duel with the winner between the Austrian Sebastian Ofner (118 ATP) and the Greek Stephanos Tsitsipas, the fifth favorite of the tournament.
The Spaniard does not have a Roland Garros trophy on his record as he has managed to win only one Grand Slam so far – the 2020 US Open.
The Roland Garros tournament takes place from May 28 to June 11, has a total prize pool of 49.6 million euros, and is the 127th tournament. Iga Sviatek and Rafael Nadal (14-time winner in Paris) became the champions of the title.
