At noon, the Rethymnos were met in the city of Rethymnon by its president. PASOK-KINAL, Nikos Androulakisexplaining his program and the party’s differences with New Democracy and SYRIZA.
In his statements, Mr. Androulakis called on the people of Rethymnon and all Greeks to support the party’s new efforts. “All progressive democrats here in Crete, let’s see what political color suits our island, where is green, green is the color of hope, optimism, perspective, national dignity and social justice,” he said.
“Mr Mitsotakis feels he has found real opposition. Because otherwise I can’t analyze how he attacks PASOK, how he distorts all our political decisions, which really create better tax conditions for the Greek people,” said N. Androulakis and explained: “We are talking about lowering VAT on goods of the first necessary, about reducing for families with children to stimulate the solution of the demographic problem, and Mr. Mitsotakis did not. We’re talking about lowering taxes by lowering wages, so there are fewer blacks and better wages for Greek children who stay at home. Mr. Mitsotakis thinks this is something wrong and blames us because we say that it is unthinkable to give tax breaks to 0.2% of the population of Greece, who have millions of euros, and not to give a chance to millions of Greeks. And this is the difference, our value difference with the New Democracy.”
As he pointed out, New Democracy does not realize that they may have received 40%, but this percentage has nothing to do with supporting society and reducing inequality, as Europe’s official figures say otherwise. It is said that Greece has 50 billion more debt since the New Democracy era of the last four years, it is the 3rd from the bottom in terms of purchasing power of the country’s households and 2/3 of taxes are indirect taxes VAT and special taxes. tax, which mainly affect the middle class and the weaker Greeks. The trade deficit is the country’s largest since 2010, so why did the Greek people support Mr. Mitsotakis? Because there was simply no serious opposition – but a serious opposition here with PASOK, which is united, strong, like a real opponent of conservation, New Democracy and the system of power operating under media totalitarianism.”
Thus, the president of PASOK-KINAL continued by stating that the totalitarianism of the media “says that we are talking about a policy of tax cuts, when at 70,000 euros in individual dividends we are talking one thousandth more for a citizen of 70,000 euros. I ask, is it the tax policy, or that in 2 years he received 5 billion VAT more than N was supposed to, at the expense of the middle class? Therefore, we call a spade a spade in the interests of the middle class, in the interests of the people, even if the New Democracy system wants to distort our positions. We are talking about fair development and tax fairness for retirees, the abolition of personal differences, a new EKAS for the poorest and 350,000 low-income pensioners, and the repeal of the injustice of Katrugalos’ laws regarding widows’ pensions and disability pensions.”
Mr. Androulakis also referred to raising public sector salaries to 1.2 billion euros “so that they reach the level of inflation and do not become poorer, when -7% is a decrease in real wages in Greece.” Whatever New Democracy says to the contrary, this is official evidence from the OECD and the European Commission. And, of course, we are talking about a competitive economy, which means not only investing in real estate, no redemption of bad loans by funds. We want development in the commodity sector, development of production, tourism, modern investments, job creation, increase in exports, and in this way we will have a perspective and a future, and this should be the future of our country. Extraversion, competitiveness, strong exports, not a country that will continue real estate development at the expense of the Greek people.”
He even said that PASOK will not allow us to “become strangers on our islands, we will not allow foundations to buy millions of properties from the poorest farmers and pastoralists. This is a patriotic movement founded by Andreas Papandreou and is fighting vigorously against the strength of all of you.” He asked everyone to fight “for three weeks and make Crete green again, the island of struggle, democracy, Crete of social justice, Crete is the castle of the democratic faction.”
Mr. Androulakis criticized the fact that both New Democracy and SYRIZA insist that their parties are a democratic faction, stating that “there are huge value differences between PASOK, New Democracy and SYRIZA. I do not own property rights – and I say this because, personally, I could never, three days before the elections, out of desperation and hopelessness, like Mr. Tsipras, call on supposedly misguided gold miners to vote for the left party. This is not a democratic party. As Mr. Mitsotakis also says they are the political descendants of Eleftherios Venizelos and that his party has Voridis and Georgiadis, Plevris, Karacaferis, and the New Democracy statement the day before yesterday, another far-right winger, Faylos Kranidiotis. This is not a democratic party. This is an attempt by Mitsotakis to strengthen himself in every possible way. So what’s the difference with us? We have unchanging ideas and values, and we do not do everything for the chair, we do not use everything for the good of the authorities.”
“We will not disappoint any Greek who supported PASOK in its new course,” the party chairman promised.
