US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will visit Saudi Arabia next week, the State Department said today.
Blinken’s trip to the Sunni kingdom comes at a time when the two countries are mediating a conflict in Sudan.
Blinken will discuss with Saudi officials “strategic cooperation” between the two countries on regional and bilateral issues, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a statement.
He will also attend a ministerial meeting Wednesday with the Gulf Cooperation Council and then Thursday in Riyadh for a coalition of countries fighting the Islamic State.
