Iryna Begu was defeated by Karolina Mukhova in the third round of Roland Garros

Iryna Begu, who is ranked 27th in the WTA ranking, failed to reach the 1/8 finals of Roland Garros.

Karolina Muhova (43 WTA) was eliminated as the best-ranked Romanian at the end of the match, which the athlete from the Czech Republic won in two sets in one hour and 34 minutes.

For participation in the third round of Roland Garros, Iryna Begu will receive 142 thousand euros and 130 points in the WTA singles ranking.

In the 1/8 finals, Mukhova will play against Russian Elina Avanesyan (134 WTA), who in the third round knocked out Clara Toson (127 WTA) with a score of 3-6, 6-1, 7-5.

The Roland Garros tournament takes place from May 28 to June 11, has a total prize pool of 49.6 million euros, and is the 127th tournament. Iga Sviatek and Rafael Nadal (14-time winner in Paris) became the champions of the title.
