“I have decided to hand over a huge batch of weapons, ammunition and equipment to the Moldovan police,” Kaminski announced Thursday afternoon after Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki arrived in the Republic. Moldova together with almost 50 other heads of state and European leaders to the summit of the European Political Community.

“On the day of Prime Minister Morawiecki’s visit to Chisinau, six Polish planes equipped with equipment to prevent attempts to destabilize the country arrived in Moldova,” said the Minister of the Interior of Poland.

“Independent and sovereign Moldova, which resists attempts at internal destabilization, needs our support. That is why I decided to hand over to the Moldovan police a huge batch of weapons, ammunition and equipment from the services subordinated to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration,” explained Mariusz Kaminski.

Kaminsky said that the equipment has already arrived in the republic. Moldova, which was transported during the night by six aircraft, including two C-130 Hercules and four CASA C-295M.

Kaminski also announced that on Wednesday Poland had added Moldovan oligarch Ilan Shor, one of the central pawns in Moscow’s efforts to destabilize Chisinau along with his pro-Russian Shor party, to its sanctions list.

“The expansion of the list of sanctions and the transportation of weapons are additional steps to strengthen relations between the Republic of Moldova and the countries of the European Union,” the Polish minister also said.

Poland made a similar statement on February 24, when it said it had handed over the first batch of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine on the occasion of Prime Minister Moravetski’s visit to Kyiv on the anniversary of the start of the Russian invasion.
