Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova prepared a big surprise in the second round of Roland Garros. This knocked out Lyudmila Samsonova, who ended in a fantastic match in 3 sets with a score of 4-6, 7-5, 7-5.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova is in the third round of Roland Garros.

Ranked 333 in the WTA rankings, the Roland Garros 2021 finalist knocked out compatriot Ludmila Samsonova (WTA 15) in the second round at the end of a great match in which Anastasia came back to win in 3 hours 5 minutes.

The 15th seed at Roland Garros, Samsonova won the first set and led 5-2 in the decider, but Pavlyuchenkova staged an incredible comeback to win the match, taking the third set 7-5.

In the third round, Pavlyuchenkova will meet another Russian Anastasia Potapova (25th WTA).

The Roland Garros tournament takes place from May 28 to June 11, has a total prize pool of 49.6 million euros, and is the 127th tournament. Iga Sviatek and Rafael Nadal (14-time winner in Paris) became the champions of the title.
