Daria Kasatkina reached the third round of Roland Garros, and the ninth favorite was successful in the match with Marketa Vondrousova and in one of the most spectacular shots of this edition of the Paris Grand Slam.

Marketa built the point well (she called her opponent to the net with a short shot, and then sent a good header), but she did not expect that Daria would reach for the ball and give it a tweener (hit between the legs).

Kasatkina beat the 2019 finalist in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 and will face Peyton Stearns (69 WTA) in the next round after the American pulled off a surprise elimination of Jelena Ostapenko (2017 champion).

The Roland Garros tournament takes place from May 28 to June 11, has a total prize pool of 49.6 million euros, and is the 127th tournament. Iga Sviatek and Rafael Nadal (14-time winner in Paris) became the champions of the title.
