
Today, Tuesday, May 30, at 13:00, a meeting of the Inter-Party Commission will be held to consider objections to the refusal to make a decision on registration in special lists of foreign voters. The meeting will take place at the Ministry of the Interior.
This committee was created today by a relevant decree of the Minister of the Interior.
Mr. Andreas Pottakis, Civil Counsel, is appointed Rapporteur and Mr. Ioannis Moschos, Assistant Counsel for Equal Treatment, serves as Alternate.
The Minister of the Interior shall participate in the Committee as Chairman, who, in the event of absence or impediment, shall be replaced, in accordance with paragraph 1f of the preamble of this Law, by the Secretary General of the Interior and Organization, Michalis Stavrianudakis.
The Committee has decisive powers and its task is to consider objections to negative decisions on registration in the special lists of foreign voters in respect of which the procedure of article 2, paragraph 5, of Law 4648/2019 has not been followed, to verify specific applications at the request of a member or members of the Commission, and selective control of applications accepted in accordance with paragraph 3 of this article.
The secretarial support of the Commission is provided by employees of the Electoral Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs: a) Paraskevi Kaldi, an employee of the administrative and financial department of the PE, b) Theodosios Floros, an employee of the administrative and financial department of the PE, c) Cosmas Hatsivasiloglu, an employee of the administrative finance department of the PE.
The tasks of the Secretariat of the Committee include preparing proposals, receiving and transmitting applications, keeping minutes, systematizing and classifying all documents of the Committee, as well as any other work necessary for its smooth operation.
