In his evening speech, the Ukrainian president said he met with the military not only to discuss training, tactics and the supply of ammunition, “but also about the right time.”

“This is the most important thing, the schedule we will follow,” Zelenskyy said.

“We will do it. Decisions have been made,” he added.

Zelenskyi also noted that the Patriot anti-missile systems supplied by the US “provide 100% interception” and will help Ukraine achieve victory over Russia.

The president noted that with military successes “and with the help of our patriots, we must continue to respond to Russia and all its manifestations.”

His comments came after a series of night and day attacks on Kyiv and other cities in Ukraine by Russian missiles and drones, most of which officials said were intercepted.

Yuriy Ignat, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, suggested that Patriot systems were behind the interception of Russian ballistic missiles headed for Kyiv this morning in a surprise attack.

“If the Iskander-M missiles are intercepted, it will be possible to draw conclusions about the means by which the targets – ballistic targets – were targeted,” he told Ukrainian television.
