​Roland Garros 2023 10th favorite Félix Auger-Aliassime suffered a surprise loss to ATP No. 130 Fabio Fognini in the first round of the Grand Slam in Paris.

Felix Auger-Aliasime defeated by Fabio Fognini at Roland Garros

Fabio, aged 36, took two hours and 17 minutes to defeat the Canadian, who is coached by Toni Nadal, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3.

In the second round, Fognini will play against Australian Jason Kubler (69 ATP).

We will remind that Fabio Fognini was the highest in the ATP hierarchy at number 7 (in July 2015), and he achieved his best result at the Grand Slam tournament at Roland Garros: the quarterfinals in 2011.

The Roland Garros tournament takes place from May 28 to June 11, has a total prize pool of 49.6 million euros, and is the 127th tournament. Iga Sviatek and Rafael Nadal (14-time winner in Paris) became the champions of the title.
