​Primoj Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) completed his fourth Grand Tour on his record, becoming the first cyclist from Slovenia to win the Tour of Italy on Sunday, international press agencies reported.

The last stage, held in Rome on a 126 km track, was won in a sprint by Mark Cavendish (Astana, 38 years old), who will leave pedal sports at the end of the season.

With a time of 2 hours 48 minutes 26 seconds, Cavendish was simultaneously followed by Luxemburger Alex Kirsch (Trek) and Italian Filippo Fiorelli (Green Project). The Brit won his 17th stage victory at the Tour of Italy, while he has already achieved 34 victories at the Tour of France.

In the general classification, Roglich (33 years old) took first place with an advantage of 14 seconds ahead of the British Geraint Thomas (Ineos) and 1 minute and 15 seconds ahead of the Portuguese Joao Almeida (UAE Emirates), writes Agerpres.
