
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi joined the list of world leaders who congratulated Recep Tayyip Erdogan for receiving a new mandate at the head of Turkeyinforms BBC.
Zelenskyi says that he expects to “strengthen” ties between Ukraine and Turkey.
“We hope to develop our cooperation for the sake of the security and stability of Europe and to further strengthen our strategic partnership for the benefit of our countries,” Zelensky wrote on Twitter.
Turkey has sought to position itself as a peace broker between Russia and Ukraine following Russia’s large-scale invasion in February 2022.
