The next athlete from the Czech Republic will face Nadya Podoroska from Argentina (#101 in the world), who previously defeated Frenchwoman Jessica Ponce with a score of 2:0.

The match started with the best conditions for Sakkari, who took a 3-0 lead from the start. However, Mukhova “answered” with her own series and equalized the score (3:3), after which the two tennis players kept their serves until the 11th game.

There, the Czech broke down and led 6-5, but the 27-year-old Greek champion reacted instantly and stayed in the set, breaking her opponent’s serve (6-6). There, Mukhova turned out to be tougher in critical moments and took a 7-5 lead in 1-0 sets.

In the second, while Sakkari again started excellently (2:0), Muchova again found the answers. She took a 6-5 lead and broke Sakkari’s serve to “write” 2-0 and deservedly celebrate her great victory over Sakkari. The defeat of the Greek, in fact, could cost her a stay in the top 10 of the world after the Paris tournament.
