Lionel Messi, impressive new record in Europe – PSG, second consecutive Ligue 1 title

Paris Saint-Germain had a difficult mission away from Strasbourg.

Christophe Galtier’s men could only manage a draw at the Stade de la Main, but it was enough for the Parisians to be crowned champions.

Lionel Messi opened the scoring for PSG by finishing off a pass from Kylian Mbappe to reach 496 goals scored in Europe’s top 5 leagues, an all-time record in football history.

The previous record belonged to Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, PSG were on the brink until the end of the game and the hosts had plenty of opportunities to equalise.

Finally, former Paris Saint-Germain player Kevin Gameiro equalized for Strasbourg (79 minutes) and also set up the final score of the game.

For PSG, this is the second title in a row in Ligue 1, the 11th in the club’s history.
