
Three small teddy bears who were trapped in the channel of the Triantafillia dam in Florinawere released after the mobilization of state bodies and organizations.
In a video by the Macedonian Hunting Federation of Thrace (KOMATH), which informed the Ministry of the Environment, three bears are seen roaming the canal, unable to get out of it. Their mom watches them and then jumps into the scarce water as well in a desperate attempt to save them.
The mobilization was immediate and people from the Florina Forest Department, the Inspectorate for the Implementation of the Forest Policy of Epirus and Western Macedonia of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, KOMATH, the Police and Fire Service, and the environmental organizations Kallisto and Arcturos rushed to the scene.
According to a statement from the Ministry of the Environment, “Three cubs, about five months old, were released in the area so that their mother could identify them. The Forest Service is constantly patrolling the area to confirm family reunification.”
