A car crashed into her front gate downing streetwhere Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s office and residence is located, London police said on Thursday, adding that the man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
“At about 4:20 p.m., a car crashed into the Downing Street gate in Whitehall. “Armed officers detained a man at the scene on suspicion of criminal mischief and dangerous driving,” police said in a statement. “There is no information about the victims.”
Police said investigations are ongoing.
A Reuters witness said a small car was parked at the gate with its doors and trunk open.
