According to Der Spiegel, it was initially unclear what the powder was. However, after an investigation, the presence of dangerous chemicals and radioactive substances was ruled out, a police spokesman said Thursday evening.
It is believed that the dust was just fine sand, although it is not yet clear if it contained biological substances. The investigation is ongoing, he said.
Khambek’s Green Party campaign headquarters has yet to respond to a Reuters request for comment on the news.
