When the hearing began, Blanche said his client realized he could not disclose certain evidence to third parties, including the media and social media sites.

The judge’s restrictions on Trump include grand jury transcripts, witness statements and other materials that prosecutors are required to provide to the defense in preparation for a trial.

Prosecutors said the order was necessary because Trump has a history of attacks on social media sites and the risk of witness retaliation.

Earlier this month, a judge ruled that Trump was free to talk about most of his own defense evidence.
