OUR Russia announced on Tuesday that fighter Su-27 intercepted two Air Force bombers USA flying over the Baltic Sea.
“After intercepting foreign combat aircraft, the Russian fighter returned to base without incident,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a Telegram message. “Russian airspace was not violated,” he emphasizes.
Similar incidents between Russian and NATO aircraft have become more frequent in recent years, even before the start of the war in Ukraine. Last week, the Russian Defense Ministry reported two similar incidents over the Baltic Sea involving French and German aircraft.
In mid-April, Russia sent a fighter jet to escort a German aircraft over the Baltic Sea.
In March, an American drone crashed after colliding with a Russian aircraft over the Black Sea. Washington said that the American MQ-9 Ripper crashed due to a collision with a Russian Su-27 fighter. Moscow strongly rejected this version, claiming that the plane crashed due to a sharp maneuver.
