A new earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 degrees was registered on Tuesday evening in Arad.

“On 05/23/2023, 19:15:29 (Romanian time), a moderate earthquake with a magnitude of ML 4.1 occurred in BANAT, ARAD, at a depth of 15 km. The earthquake occurred 17 km southeast of Arad, 43 km northeast of Timișoara, 72 km northeast of Bekeščaba, 92 km northeast of Resica,” the National Institute of Earth Physics reports.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 and one with a magnitude of 4.3 occurred on Monday evening in Krishan, Arad county.

After the earthquakes in Arad, four more earthquakes occurred.

According to data published on the INFP website, earthquakes in Arad with magnitudes of 2, 2.4, 2 and 2.7 occurred between Monday at 11:26 p.m. and Tuesday at 5:12 a.m. at a depth of less than 10 km.

The most powerful earthquake this year occurred in the Oltenia area on February 14 with an intensity of 5.7 on the Richter scale, after which hundreds of aftershocks occurred.
