The result of the elections on 21 May was insignificant. pre-election earthquake. The scope of her victory N.D. but also its collapse SYRIZA it exceeded all expectations and will undoubtedly be an important milestone in our electoral history. Will this mean a period of redrawing of our political landscape, 1977 or 2012 electionsthis is what will be seen in the coming days.

However, despite the surprise of the result, this election was a confirmation election. Confirmation of trends that have been fixed for a very long time and, it would seem, have been fixed for about seven years. Confirmation of the electoral rule that the one who has a clear strategy and conveys the most correct message, in the correct style, from the respective networks wins the election. Confirmation of those who claim that the Greek society has left the crisis period behind. And with her political and communication strategiesbut also the rhetoric that characterized him.

N.D. becomes the second government in the history of the country to increase its percentage after PASOK in the 2000 elections, and even then in terms of simple proportionality. Leveraging its successes in critical public sectors (unemployment, investment, digitization of the state, country strength, reduction of unfinished pensions, etc.) and also strategically attacking a strong social flow that wants political stability.

For SYRIZA, this election represents an absolute strategic defeat. The defeat was not only due to pre-election mistakes (which defined her scope), but also due to the fact that in four years she was unable to communicate with a more moderate political audience and closed herself in a tough, fanatical audience with a completely distorted picture. the actual situation in the country. His main strategic choices turned out to be completely unfortunate, such as simple analogies (which eventually led to his own demobilization), the focus of his attacks on Mr. Mitsotakis personally, and, above all, his obsession with the repetitive practices and rhetoric of the last decade. in a society that has distanced itself from it. SYRIZA enters a strong spiral, perhaps of an existential nature. And given that we will probably have new elections next month, he will be asked to answer these mistakes under dramatic circumstances.

Finally, the rise of PASOK, despite the strategic difficulty of moving between the two poles, provides an opportunity for it to attempt to reassert its leading role in the wider centre-left space.

New elections seem inevitable. Victory and independence of N.D. Also. But what is certain is that our political life is entering a new period with many restructurings.
