Elections: SOS for North Dakota, SYRIZA, PASOK

Its completion pre-election period discovers that the party headquarters are concerned about the results of the strategy they have followed and the fruits that it will bring. So where will they turn their attention? N.D., SYRIZA and PASOK when will the electoral map begin to form on TV screens?

  • Firstlyin specific regions.
  • Secondlyfor specific critical “audiences”.
  • AND Thirdlyin a positive or negative coincidence of the result with the goals that each has set.

The basic desire for everything sides, mainly from the two big ones, “paint” as many regions as possible, maintain leadership where they won it, look for a reversal where the result was marginal, and also improve their performance where they were very low, so as to raise their general course as well. Tours of political leaders were largely planned on the basis of these priorities, combined with the mobility of local candidates.

Another element that influenced the formation of the election campaign is related to certain groups of the population targeted by the party headquarters. Each side, based on age, professional, social criteria, addresses individual audiences where, in its opinion, it has a greater penetration, but also where, in its opinion, it is weaker, addressing and formulating messages accordingly for this purpose. to “catch” those who are particularly interested. , worries, worries and convince that he can answer them more convincingly.

At the end of the pre-election period, each roster has a set bar for the result that will be considered successful. And no matter the expectations of ballot box resultwill determine the course of events for the next day.

New Democracy
Northern Greece and new voters under the microscope

Stavros Papantoniou

The election campaign is not over. As “K” wrote a few days ago, there is a significant percentage of about 5% who decide in front of the ballot box what to vote for, and this percentage increases even more if we look at how many of those who decide in the last 24 hours since using “K” to write down the “zones” in which the result will be decided until the last moment, and the points on which Maximos will focus during the announcement of the election results.

Northern Greece, all of Macedonia and Thrace, as has been repeatedly said, constitute a very critical geographical area for the Northern Far East due to the inclination of a significant part of the citizens to parties to the right of the Northern Far East. The government will strive until the last moment to limit losses. In Northern Greece, where Kyriakos Velopoulos’s party has a strong base in the region is crucial, while nationally it is critical for the North Dakota party. if one of the small right-wing parties manages to “break out” and get into parliament, then in the second election they can claim something more. Of course, Attica is – always – also critical.

In Maxima, they have focused on areas where SYRIZA excelled in 2019, such as the western suburbs and Piraeus II, and they want to not only close the gap, but even win. Regions with centre-left traditions such as Crete and Achaia are also important.

On the night after the election, Maximou will focus on, among other things, the effectiveness of the Hellenic Solution and the smaller party formations that move to his right.

The female audience and the youth are undoubtedly two very important social groups, the choice of which will ultimately decide a lot, since they make up the majority of the undecided. It is no coincidence that the prime minister appeared on two non-political broadcasts this week, while in all his speeches in recent days he constantly refers to what his government has done for young people, with government sources expressing optimism that the result will be better. than in 2019. At the same time, the government firmly believes that they will have higher percentages for civil servants, in which SYRIZA won by two points in 2019, perhaps due to fear of the SYRIZA narrative that the Mitsotakis government will make layoffs. The government is also expecting additional benefits for freelancers following the Giorgos Katrougalos scandal, in which he dominated the state with 44.6% to 24.5% in 2019.

Har. Tricap

As for the parties that the ND is “looking at”, it is obvious that PASOK is the first one. The government does not hide the fact that the voters of Nikos Androulakis are a reservoir that they consider critical, which is why the prime minister has been constantly singling out the president of the party among his voters lately. Finally, with regard to the expected result, in Maximos they avoid … arithmetic, talking about a clear victory, which will become a “spring” for self-confidence. Approximately a percentage close to 35% will be within the target.

SYRIZA
Code “middle class” for Tsipras

Antonis Anzoletou

After the misplacement of Giorgos Katrugalos, the “middle class” code became an absolute priority for Kumundur. The “bridges” that Alexis Tsipras has been building lately should not be destroyed.

The President of SYRIZA, in an interview with SKAI, said on this occasion that “when you approach the Greek people with a change in the contract, you cannot give anyone the right, intentionally or unintentionally, to question it. I am determined to abide by this contract to the letter. And especially for the middle class that has been hurt all these years, I feel a moral obligation to breathe. Not only will there be no additional contributions, there will be no tax up to 10,000 euros, there will be an opportunity to settle debts by canceling the feigned contribution. We will give the middle class a break.”

The youth and the undecided are the “reservoirs” from which, in their opinion, they can come out stronger in Kumundura. Mobilizing them was a big stake, and the members of the party were entrusted with this difficult task. After all, there are more than 400,000 17-20-year-olds voting for the first time, and about half a million who have not decided on a party.

Northern Greece and Crete

The question for Kumunduru is how much Katrugalu’s report on insurance premiums will affect the electorate.

Regionally, SYRIZA was “hit” in 2019 by the Prespa Agreement in Northern Greece, so on Election Night in Koumunduru, they will be looking forward to seeing if that image has changed at least partially. Alexis Tsipras started the campaign from the very beginning, and his colleagues say the wave that the New Democracy raised has subsided. The eyes of the new digital platform will clearly be directed to Crete as well. Four regions have been “painted pink” since June 2012, and they want that to stay the same. They also attach great importance to the division of Athens II. The three sectors, holding a total of 47 seats, with approximately 1.5 million registered voters, make up about 1/6 of the ward. The “castle” of SYRIZA is the Western sector. They want to drive a wedge in the South and significantly reduce the gap in the North, which was 17 points four years ago.

winding

As for the result, Kumundura decided not to attach importance to it. They do not believe that there are no more leaks to the left, and they hope for maximum mobilization.

The leaders argue that since SYRIZA in 2019, with a poor result in the European elections (23.75%) and a four-year deterioration in power, managed to gain 31.53%, the base cannot be put lower. Alexis Tsipras’ report to Golden Dawn voters caused more noise in Kumundura than expected.

PASOK
Harilaou Trikoupi looking at the pool

Dora Antoniou

The Attica basin is a big question for Harilaou Trikoupi. The results that PASOK will register tomorrow in the constituencies of the basin will judge how high the party will achieve in the territory. For a long time, the party headquarters noted that while in the region the party seems to have gained momentum, even noticeable in some prefectures, in Attica it is lagging far behind. This figure is far from miserable, given that almost half of the voters are gathered in the pool. And in regions like the old Second Athens, PASOK was all-powerful. The decline in its share from 2012 onwards affects the final overall percentage of the party. In the 2019 elections, although the percentage of PASOK in the territory was 8.10%, in some regions of Attica it fluctuated between 5-6%. Therefore, it is extremely important that the party manages to increase its influence.

Atmosphere of optimism

A large number of participants in the rally in Thissio last Wednesday created an atmosphere of optimism that the percentage in Attica could finally exceed expectations and be a pleasant surprise. Colder voices, however, say it will be very difficult for PASOK to reach double-digit percentages in the pool. In any case, throughout the entire election campaign, special importance was attached to the mobilization of voters with site visits and excursions by Nikos Androulakis to many parts of Attica.

In Harilaou Trikoupi, they want to see if they keep the high percentage of votes they had in 2019, in regions like Rhodopes with special minority voting characteristics, but also in Peloponnese, Arcadia and Ilia or Epirus, Thesprotia. They expect that they will be able to achieve a great improvement in the prefectures of Thessaly, while at the same time hoping for good interest and even some change in the order of the parties in the improvement of their position in Crete.

The goal of N. Androulakis and his staff is a “clean” double-digit percentage in the region of 11% -12%.

As for the population groups to which the party attaches great importance, these are primarily the productive classes, farmers, livestock breeders, freelancers, and special attention was paid to the representation of these branches in the party ballots. At the same time, the staff of Nikos Androulakis believe that the party can achieve good results in the younger age groups as well, due to the age of the president and the leaders he chose to highlight, precisely to signal renewal and trust in the new generation.

Program

PASOK sees its program as a powerful weapon in gaining the attention and ultimately the voice of citizens, which references the party’s tradition of strong social policy during its reign and aims to address the concerns of citizens in better side. for health services, for quality education, for social protection of vulnerable segments of the population, for housing needs, for the protection of labor rights, etc.

Nikos Androulakis demanded a strong double-digit percentage from the voters, which he also set as a condition for the party’s participation in the next day’s government debate. A figure of 11% to 12% would be very satisfactory.
