Elena Rybakina (6 WTA) reached the final of the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome after a great semi-final match against Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko (20 WTA), score 6-2, 6-4.

After two sets and an hour and 41 minutes of play, which was interrupted twice by rain, the Kazakh easily reached the final of the competition.

The former winner of Wimbledon-2022 dominated the first set, which she won without emotion.

The beginning of the second set belonged to Olena Ostapenko, who led with a score of 3:0 and 4:1. With the score 4-2 in favor of Latvia, the game was interrupted twice by rain.

At the resumption, Rybakina brilliantly returned to the match, managing to win four games in a row and reach the grand final.

In the last act of the competition, Olena Rybakina will meet Ukrainian Angelina Kalinina (47 WTA), who unexpectedly qualified, beating Russian Veronika Kudermetova, score 7-5, 5-7, 6-2.

WTA Rome takes place from May 9 to 20 on the clay in the Foro Italico complex. His total prize money is $3,572,618 and is in the “WTA 1000” category. Iga Svyatek became the champion of the last two competitions.
