“Today we are taking new steps to ensure the failure of Russia’s illegal aggression against the sovereign state of Ukraine and to support the Ukrainian people in their quest for a just peace based on respect for international law,” the G7 leaders said in a statement.

The heads of state and government of the G7 – the United States, Japan, Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy and Canada – gathered in Hiroshima for a summit dedicated to the conflict in Ukraine and growing concern about the rise of China’s international power.

According to the G7, its members “cooperate” with other states to avoid their products and technologies from entering Russia through third countries, a growing concern among some of them, especially from Europe.

The G7 members want to suppress any circumvention of sanctions that would bring Russia additional revenue. (Agerpress)
