New round sanctions at the expense Russia announced today Britanniaaimed at companies associated with Ukrainian theft grainas well as those involved in the transmission of Russian energy.

The UK, along with the US and other major G7 economies, are set to announce sanctions and export controls against Russia over its war with Ukraine at this weekend’s summit in Japan.

The UK said in a statement that it is imposing sanctions on 86 “shadow” individuals and entities as part of its fight against those linked to the theft and resale of Ukrainian grain.

The sanctions will also target major energy and arms transport companies, including those associated with Russia’s state nuclear energy company Rosatom and Russian Copper Company owner Igor Altuskin.

This became known after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced new import bans on Russian diamonds, as well as copper, aluminum and nickel.

The Russian metallurgical company Severstal said today that British sanctions against it will not affect it, TASS reports.
