
OUR Andy Rourkebassist of a popular British band Blacksmithsdied at the age of 59.
Guitarist Johnny Marr broke the news of his death on social media. Marr wrote: “We are sad to announce the passing of Andy Rourke after battling pancreatic cancer. He will be remembered as a kind and handsome man and an extremely talented musician. We ask for privacy at this sad time.”

Rourke contributed to Smith’s classic hits, “This Charming Man” and “There Is a Light That Never Goes Out”, both songs epitomize his bold style of music. He also played on Morrissey’s songs when the band broke up.
In addition to Smith, he was also in the band Freebass along with Peter Hook of New Order and Manny of the Stone Roses. During his career he has recorded with Sinead O’Connor, The Pretenders, Ian Brown, Dolores O’Riordan and the band DARK.
