Iga Svyatek was forced to withdraw from her match with Olena Rybakina in the quarterfinals of the tournament in Rome due to pain in her right thigh. The WTA leader made a statement regarding her presence at Roland Garros (May 28 – June 11).

Iga Svyatek hopes to play at Roland Garros after injury in match against Elena Rybakina

Iga Sviatek is feeling emotional before his second Grand Slam tournament in 2023.

The Polish woman, who dominates the WTA standings, suffered an injury in the quarter-finals of the tournament in Rome and was forced to retire to Olena Rybakina at 2-2 in the deciding set.

In a few hours, Iga announced on her Twitter that there will be a few days of break, after which she will go to Paris, where she will continue her preparations for Roland Garros.

“Quick update. Definitely a few weekends. And I’m booking a ticket to Paris, so… Keep your fingers crossed for me, please! I hope to see you again soon.” – Iga Svyatek reported.

Iga Sviatek won the Roland Garros tournament twice, in 2020 and 2022.
