Concerts, an open-air music cinema that will take us to the most glamorous capitals of classical music and opera and the world’s biggest festivals, silent films with live music and shadow theater make up this year’s multi-collective. the program of the Garden Athens Concert Hall, in which the Greek song plays a leading role.

Kostis Maravegias (16/6), Maria Papageorgiou (23/6), Maria Farandouri, Savina Jannatou, Yiannis Palamidas, Dimitra Galani and Konstantinos Vita will take the stage of the Garden this summer as part of the tribute to Lena Platonos (7/7). In July we will also have the opportunity to venture into the musical and poetic universe of Leonard Cohen with Nalisa Green, Sugahspank! and Lou (1/7) and share special jazz moments with Dimitris Kalantzis Quartet (14/7).

For the second year in a row, UNITEL, one of the largest companies in the production and distribution of cultural content, has been offering us recordings of concerts and performances featuring world-famous orchestras, conductors and performers (admission is free). In the outdoor musical cinema of the Garden in June and July we will have the opportunity to see the operas “Carmen” (22/6) from the Arena of Verona and “Madama Butterfly” (6/7) from the Bregenz Festival. and two concerts by the Vienna Philharmonic Musikferain (29/6 and 13/7) with great soloists (Marta Argerich, Leonidas Kavakos) and conductors (Jubin Meta, Herbert Blomstedt).

The Megaro, continuing its silent film screenings with live music this summer, presents Alfred Hitchcock’s The Tenant. On the piano Stathis Anninos (30/6).

For the first time, this year’s program of the Garden combines two productions designed for the whole family: the Burger Project Party with its famous hits, as well as new songs and interactive music games (8/7), and the brand new work of Ilias Karellas “Theseus and the Minotaur” in which the beloved director and shadow actor meets Greek mythology and creates an original musical performance with giant shadow theater figures and live music, based on the Cretan tradition and beyond (27 and 28/6 and 3, 4, 11 and 12/7).

At the same time, the Garden welcomes the established Music Festival (21/6) with the participation of KOA, the ERT choir and the jazz trio Tassos Pappa, who will present Neapolitan cansonets, introductions from famous Italian operas, iconic hits by Bealtes. as well as original jazz compositions, but also arrangements, as well as the holding of the “Sounds among the Leaves” concert with groups and artists who excelled at the “Open Platforms”, Megaros auditions. Admission to both events is free.
