“May 28 will mark the start of Turkey’s century,” says Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan with an eye on the date of the second round of the presidential election, expected in about two weeks.
“We, as the People’s Alliance (that is, a coalition of parties that have united their forces around Erdogan and the AKP), fought hard, not succumbing to challenges, ignoring pressure, not intimidating and not giving up in the face of difficulties. I thank each of you for your help, your efforts and your sacrifices. I thank God for giving me such companions. The time has come to consolidate the May 14th victory with an even greater triumph,” said Erdogan, 69, who won the first round of the May 14th Turkish presidential election.her May against the opposition presidential candidate, Kemal Kilicdaroglubut never scored 50%, which would have given him victory from the first round.
Erdogan’s victory in the first round came as a surprise inside and outside of Turkey, as many (social companies and foreign media) paid little attention to Kılıçdaroğlu’s victory.
“Hello” from Kalina to foreign media
Taking into account the results of the first round, which put Erdogan in first place in the race, the presidential adviser Ibrahim Kalin today was quick to ridicule the international media that criticized the Turkish president ahead of the election by quoting a series of headlines in a Twitter post titled “ande hi”.

As for Kılıçdaroğlu himself, in his Twitter post, he emphasizes that Turkey now has 12 days before the second round of the presidential elections on May 28 to get out of the “dark tunnel” into which Erdogan has driven.
Kılıçdaroğlu of youth: “We have 12 days to get out of the dark tunnel”
Addressing the youth, the opposition presidential candidate notes: “…they put the biggest burden on the youth. You don’t have enough money for anything. The joy of your life has been stolen […] They have united against you. We have 12 days, we either get out of this dark tunnel or we don’t.”
